About This Event

What is this “radical inward revolution” that Krishnamurti talks about? We need a tremendous amount of energy and we dissipate it through fear but when there is this energy which comes from throwing off every form of fear, that energy itself produces the radical inward revolution. -KrishnamurtiHuman life is rooted in psychological conditioning that programs our relationships and action. This is our everyday existence. Do we observe our lives clearly and freely, or do we look at life through convention, culture and conditioning? Do we see ourselves directly, or have an image of what we believe ourselves to be? Is what we “see” a conclusion of our own thinking?

Can the thinking mind be free of what it projects as reality? Is radical change possible? What is this fundamental “revolution” that Krishnamurti speaks about?

Thought solves problems, projects possible outcome and reorganises disorder. But does thought also maintain and foster fear and sorrow? According to Krishnamurti, when there is fear or sorrow there can be no energy for radical inward revolution. What does this mean? Is there an energy free from the continuing influence and weight of the psychological past?

K may be stating all this but we shall be examining the actuality of these questions together in dialogue, directly for ourselves. Conditioned thought and it’s hold on the psyche is not only integral to our own individual daily lives, but also apparently inherent in the very structure of the human mind itself. Can this mind change radically and what are the wider implications of this possible fundamental shift?
“If you are at all serious you have to find out whether human beings, that is you and I, can bring about a total revolution in ourselves psychologically. When you change not at a superficial level but fundamentally, you affect consciousness, because you are the world and the world is you.”  -Krishnamurti

Jackie McInley founded and ran an independent Krishnamurti centre called Open Door in Southern France from 2004 until 2013 – hosting monthly inquiry weekends and annual international gatherings in French and English. She organized an experimental David Bohm bi-monthly dialogue meeting for 4 years in a local market town, and later a Krishnamurti dialogue group in the city of Toulouse.

A former self-employed, foreign language and theatre teacher by profession (schools, higher education and business), she now organises and facilitates inquiry events, gatherings and retreats in a variety of countries and cultures around the world. She also visits, facilitates dialogues and gives talks in the Krishnamurti Foundations, centres & schools in USA, UK and India.

Jackie does not follow any particular spiritual teaching but is deeply interested in the investigative talks & dialogues of J.Krishnamurti as a mirror and friend to her own constant inner inquiry.
