Topic: Embracing our feelings without judgement ...

it is difficult to draw the line between thought and feeling, it seems like they both create each other so what k is suggesting to me is to separate the feeling from thought and look at the feeling objectively and none-emotionaly .

Topic: Are we here to perpetuate ego ?

Ego is a problem in every level of our being from the familly to the politics, i think eventualy one has to learn how to coexist with other people's ego and yet not get involved which is very hard to do.

The word creates the feeling for example the word communism or the word imperialism create certain feelings .Can one look at these feelings without the word? That is my question.

Topic: Can One Live Without An Opinion Of Oneself?

Inner impressions belong to the past. They have little importance. What is important is to have no image of oneself therefore of the others. Is that possible?

What is death?

Topic: What is death? Is it a static thing or a living thing?

Is dieing to the past an act of will or it happens naturally without any effort when one's values are changed?

Topic: What is death? Is it a static thing or a living thing?

So to die to the past means dieing to the self which is the past and the future. Time is the essence of the self or thought. Now the question is what is the entity that decides to die to the self , is it another thought or is it intelligence that sees the futility of the self and it's activities?

Topic: What is death? Is it a static thing or a living thing?

If it is another thought that decides to die or abandon the self then there must be a clear motive behind it which is again time , therfore continuity not real death.

Thought is the outcome of the past which is a dead thing. Thought repeats and sustain itself by repetition. Thought is blind, it cannot see what it is doing. There has to be another factor which we call intelligence or silence that can end the continuity of the self or thought.

I Just read today's QOTD and K. calls intelligence, "discernment of right value"

Yes, it is all about having right values that are not based on thought and the self.

Is death something to be afraid of? People are not afraid of death . Are afraid of what may happen before death .The loneliness ,the pain and so on. Death means not being or not existing.

I wonder if questions and answers/knowledge can accurately reproduce/define something outside of it's capacity to do so.

Words/knowledge/logic/information has utility for the human biological entity. I just question (without seeking an answer), if asking about something we're calling "Silence", is appropriate for that mechanism

When one is not interested in finding out the truth there is always an excuse. This is what I have learned in discussing k things in public discussions .People are burned out and don't have the confidence to discover truth or silence for themselves.

Do we need to read what k said about silence or silence is all around us. Nothing can exist without space or silence . We know that k said listening to the silences between two noise and to the silence that is behind all noise is intelligence. I think that is fairly simple to do if one has the interest to find out.. Just listen...

Fear and pleasure are exclusively the product thought and time . Physical fear is not fear at all since it is immediate response of the senses. For example touching the flame of fire or seeing a deadly animal and avoiding it is part of intelligence.

When we say " Let us suppose that a regular average human mind has come upon this thing K called "silence"?" Are we not approaching an idea of silence which has nothing to do with actual silence?

Thought being anxious always moves faster than what is, that is the what should be or what ought to be and so on gets ahead of what is and distortions takes place. If thought knew it's right place and didn't interfere with what is then all the problems of the world would be solved ,wouldn't it? So our problem is to put thought in it's right place. What is the right place for thought ? Even in technical things thought has to be quiet when investigating things. So the art of thinking is what we need to learn and that is thought to be quiet when is not needed. Correct? Thought is the problem, can thought be quiet? Can thought be silent when is not needed? That is our main problem in the world .

There we go around the circle again. Why are we concern with "other factor" and so on? Is that not a way to avoid understanding what has been said which is a fact? Our problem is that we think in term of the controller and the controlled ,observer and the observed ,the doer and the doing. That is our conditioning, division. When one understands something one just understands and it ends there. one doesn't ask who is it that understand and who is doing what and so on. Which is merely an intellectual avoidance of facts.. I am not trying to convince anybody about anything, I am just watching things that distracts one from seeing what is . Thought avoids facing the facts in so many subtle ways..

But primarily misses or is ignorant to the 'fact' that the 'thinker' is the 'thought'. Why is that?

I said that we are conditioned to think that there is a thinker separate from his thought through our education and religious conditioning. The carrot and stick thing.

I don't know what happened to my answer. It is not there. But we are not concern with the thinker or the observer because it is an image and is none-existing. We can only discuss facts not ideas.

Once that is realized seriously, does thought make useless images any more?

K: in ending there is renewal, is there not? It's only in death that a new thing comes into being. I am not giving you comfort. This is not something to be believed or thought about or intellectually examined and accepted, for then you will make it into another comfort, as you now believe in reincarnation or continuity in the hereafter, and so on. But the actual fact is that that which continues has no rebirth, no renewal. Therefore, in dying every day there is renewal, there is a rebirth. That is immortality. In death there is immortality, not the death of which you are afraid, but the death of previous conclusions, memories, experiences, with which you are identified as the 'me'. In the dying of the 'me' every minute there is eternity, there is immortality, there is a thing to be experienced -not to be speculated upon or lectured about, as you do about reincarnation and all that kind of stuff. When you are no longer afraid, because every minute there is an ending and therefore a renewal, then you are open to the unknown. Reality is the unknown. Death is also the unknown. But to call death beautiful, to say how marvelous it is because we shall continue in the hereafter and all that nonsense, has no reality. What has reality is seeing death as it is, an ending; an ending in which there is renewal, a rebirth, not a continuity. For that which continues decays; and that which has the power to renew itself is eternal. - Krishnamurti, J. Krishnamurti, The Book of Life
