Interview Answers

Do you think Krishnamurti was exceptional, or is the transformation he spoke of universally accessible?

Of course K was exceptional. This does not mean that this transformation is not universally accessible, as far as I can tell, it is accessible by looking, seeing or hearing, whatever there is at the moment, then get on with it, see more, hear more, perceive more..... comprehension will set in and open the door, wider and wider.....

What future do you foresee for Krishnamurti's works? Do you think they will grow in importance or will they just gradually die away?

no idea, anything is possible. However, it looks like mankind is too conditioned for the necessary radical change

Has coming into contact with Krishnamurti and his teachings had any perceptible effect on your life and/or relationships?

You bet

Are there any aspects of Krishnamurti's teaching that you find implausible or difficult to accept?

I find slow progress in comprehension is a fact of my learning, an ending of all sorrow seems to be the finale of this rising awareness, but before that can happen, every hidden niche of the conditioned mind needs to be laid open and totally confronted. This is not a one time enterprise for ordinary beings, it takes everything in you, everything!!! Over a period of time!

Does the phrase "living the teachings" have any meaning to you?

I don t like this phrase. When you get a hunch of real living, the teaching as such has evaporated, you don t need a teaching.

Do you think it advisable to introduce Krishnamurti to people you know? Have you ever done it and if yes, what are your experiences?

I have done it when the occasion offered itself. Twice there was really stunning response, two people found they finally got something they had always longed for.

How do you strike a balance between healthy doubt and ready acceptance in investigating Krishnamurti's proposals?

This question never posed itself to me. In the beginning I was always able to live with doubt easily and carry it alongsinde. Now there is no more doubt. Acceptance was never my thing, never, I just don t go in for acceptance.
I was very critical with K, I also never wanted a gift from him. I need the real thing, that s all.

How important do you consider group dialogue to be in understanding the more subtle points of Krishnamurti's message?

Depends on the group.

How do you personally go about exploring the Krishnamurti's teachings (through personal study, dialogues, dvds)?

Searching the mind, listening to it, being aware of the entire thing, body and mind which is one. Being incredibly amazed by the wonder of life.

Can dialogue - in the sense of sincere inquiry - be organized or can it only come about spontaneously, unprompted?

Sincerity would probably be the decisive factor.

If you had to sum up what Krishnamurti is all about in just a few words of your own, what would they be?

Words do not do justice here. My goodness, he could still be the starting for a complete revolution of consciousness.
Something that would turn life from banality into... to use his own word..... grandezza.

Do you think it is possible to make Krishnamurti more "practicable" than what he himself seems to have allowed for?

That is nonsense. Are you implying that K was impractible? That he lacked something? The idea of impractibility is just that - an idea which holds you back when you do not cut through thought as such.

Do you ever feel that you have been conditioned by Krishnamurti's teachings?

As long as there is an ego reference there is conditioning. The question is, is one aware of it and how deep does this awareness reach. What type of comprehension is part of it.
