Member Statement

I came on K. books when I was twenty years old. After a long struggle in order to find myself and my path, I finally arrived at a peaceful step. I always questionned myself about life, relationships and human condition. Now I have my feet on earth and K. books are part of my life. I just met other young people in Switzerland and feel energized by them!

Interview Answers

Does the phrase "living the teachings" have any meaning to you?

Yes, absolutely. Since I met other people deeply interested in K's teachings and had several discussion with them, I noticed that I could live the teachings in everyday life. I am now my own observer, and often hear my judgments and thoughts like an exterior person.

If you had to sum up what Krishnamurti is all about in just a few words of your own, what would they be?

Krishnamurti is a gift for humanity. He and his teachings are the opportunity to dig in ourselves and look at our strenghts and weaknesses. Become better persons through a better understanding of our structure and way of being.

What future do you foresee for Krishnamurti's works? Do you think they will grow in importance or will they just gradually die away?

My opinion is that poeple are more and more keen on finding answers about deep aspects of their life. The spiritual path is becoming a need for a lot of us. K's works will grow in importance for sure.

Do you ever feel that you have been conditioned by Krishnamurti's teachings?

Not at all, rather the opposite. Krishnamurti gave a voice to all these thoughs and questions I couldn't express with appropriate words. His teachings brought me clarity and energy to be myself with all the differences.
I now feel strong and happy with who I am.

How do you strike a balance between healthy doubt and ready acceptance in investigating Krishnamurti's proposals?

It is not easy. The best way to find balance is to believe in oneself and stay open to what Krishnamurti wants to tell us.

Has coming into contact with Krishnamurti and his teachings had any perceptible effect on your life and/or relationships?

Yes! Krishnamurti's teachings opened a wonderful door in my life. All those doubts and worries about me being and feeling different received an answer. My relationships changed a lot; I chose to end the contact with some people who didn't respect and care about my difference, I met new people and went to a summer Krishnamurti retreat for young poeple in the swiss moutains. There I also met kind people!

Are there any aspects of Krishnamurti's teaching that you find implausible or difficult to accept?

Many aspects are quiet difficult to accept: The fact that most of the people enter in relationships only not to be alone. The fact that humans always seek for self-interest. To me, it is rather the hard reality that is difficult to accept, but it's important to look clear and open in order to progress innerly.

Do you think Krishnamurti was exceptional, or is the transformation he spoke of universally accessible?

Krishnamurti was especially evolved compared to us. The transformation he spoke of is not a question of accessibility but of need. The world cannot keep on functionning this way, so we won't have the choice, we will have to transform it and change ourselves.

Do you think it is possible to make Krishnamurti more "practicable" than what he himself seems to have allowed for?

It is possible. We should simply start at the source: Life. How do we treat and raise our children? What makes a child become a happy adult? What is a responsable way to support a child, teenager, young adult through life? A lot of things start at birth and childhood. Just by focusing on one point, we could make a big difference. K's teachings are an entity; let's take his gift step by step, with time and deeply.

How important do you consider group dialogue to be in understanding the more subtle points of Krishnamurti's message?

Talking together is very important. It allows us to see our opinion in a more complete way. Each person has something to bring to our understanding. Sharing ideas is the key of developping and progressing TOGETHER.

Do you think it advisable to introduce Krishnamurti to people you know? Have you ever done it and if yes, what are your experiences?

I never talk about my interest for K. This is a part of my life that is very precious, too precious to serve it on a laughing opportunity for others. I tried once very discreetly and recieved laughs and narrow-minded feedback. I'm waiting for the time when someone will tell me that he or she wants to digg more into life.
