Interview Answers

How important do you consider group dialogue to be in understanding the more subtle points of Krishnamurti's message?

Group dialogue has been a great help and a great frustration to me both. Since 2 years I'm skyping with a friend, seriously studying K. and investigating our daily lives and that works out miracoulously fine.

How do you strike a balance between healthy doubt and ready acceptance in investigating Krishnamurti's proposals?

My tendency is to first look for a position from where to investigate. As that doesn't work with things that feel realy important, i start looking - reluctantly.

Can dialogue - in the sense of sincere inquiry - be organized or can it only come about spontaneously, unprompted?

It can be facilitated as well as made impossible by attitude and intentions.

Do you think Krishnamurti was exceptional, or is the transformation he spoke of universally accessible?

Although he was exceptional, the transformation he spoke about seems to me a universal birthright.

What future do you foresee for Krishnamurti's works? Do you think they will grow in importance or will they just gradually die away?

I think K's work will continue to influence people in depth rather than in scale.

Does the phrase "living the teachings" have any meaning to you?

Very much so, but i find it very difficult.

Are there any aspects of Krishnamurti's teaching that you find implausible or difficult to accept?

In over thirty years i found many things hard to grasp, but never inconsistent.

Do you think it advisable to introduce Krishnamurti to people you know? Have you ever done it and if yes, what are your experiences?

I do it when i'm tempted to quote K, out of courtesy. It hardly ever rings a bell - often eybrows are raised. Wether that is because my quotation is incorrect, or K is never heard of, or my sanity is doubted, doesn't really matter, so i leave it. Than i tell a story from my life where i applied my understanding and how that worked out - that rings bells.
