Dear Monic Devi, I hope you have read the book of biography of JK by PUPUL JAYAKAR.
If you have, there one comes across JK solving some dilemma faced by Indira Gandhi, the then primeminister of India, regarding the Sikh rebellion in Punjab. So he seems to have foreseen many things about Indian Politics and advised when asked for...it seems.

Are you riding a tiger, Krishnan? Going all the way? Most people I see seem to be riding sheep. That is if they are riding anything at all.

Krishnan, I have yet to read that book and so much more. The response I provided was based on all that I've learned, although he had followers and wanted to eradicate the suffering of humanity, in some time and space he mentioned, perhaps in a dialogue, that it would be inappropriate to impose ones way of thinking upon another. Ultimately I think it would depend upon the surrounding circumstances.

Dear Bob, yes in a way, one can say that metaphorically. The "I" is the tiger that I am riding. I cannot slip away, if I fall, it would devour "me" with the unending chatter of the thought-processes.So ,better "I" sit tight!
In the history narrated about Indias turmoils & Indira Ghandhis troubles were an endless beehive of activities that powerful politicians initate and find afterwards, difficult to control what they themselves set in motion. That one can observe just now in IRAN too.As individual"karma" strikes back at one like a boomerang, the collective- karma of a nation also strikes back again. Nothing is new. It is all the same old repeated story that becomes Mans History!

By 'sitting tight' I hope you don't mean you're waiting for someone else to turn on the light to help dispell the darkness in our world, Krishnan. And once again I offer you the following view of K's:

"The politicians are not going to eradicate all this misery and ugliness in the world, any more than the religions and the reformers will, because they are only concerned with a little patchwork here and there; but if there were LOVE, then all these things would disappear tomorrow." You seem, like so many, to lack the necessary seriousness that's required for self-transformation; from which alone one can bring real light into the world, Krishnan. Which, as K said, goes hand in hand with sensitivity.

Dear Bob, you are right, I was trying to be aware at the moment, Castigating or categorizing these corrupt politicians will not make them disappear. organizations of one kind or another will flourish as long as men&women are insecure in themselves and want ,paucity of resources&poverty rules the roost. Thanks again for reminding me of sensitivity, I am not aspiring to be transformed because I accept what "I" AM,

Hi Krishnan,

My thought here is that indeed we can't really aspire to or want or seek transformation, but rather it comes to us of itself. And often it comes as a thief in the night, as K once said. And as I believe Christ also stated.

Krishnan, much needed humor in this serious environment...............thank you.

"Most of us become serious, lose the sense of joyousness. Seriousness which is without joy, without delight, is artifical in most cases, and so must be avoided. If you cultivate seriousness with joy, which springs up because you have Him in your heart, as a part of yourself, then that seriousness takes on a delight instead of turning to morbidity and clumsy expressions. When you see him you must see him out of joy and not out of seriousness. You can only approach Him when you are really happy, when you are really enlightened, when you are really delighted; not through the seriousness of religiosity and a gloomy idea of spirituality". J. yes very much so. I recommend our forum members to read "TALES OF MULLAH NASRUDDIN" in between their serious engagement here. Here is one example: Mullah Nasruddin was searching in the sands under the street lamp in his village. The villagers asked him what he is looking for. He replied: "I lost my needle at home" They said:" why are you searching here in the sands instead of your house?" He replied: My house is dark. Here I have the light of the street lamp to search for"-
We need to break from the grooves of JK-CONDITIONING too in between.

Of course the foundation for it (mutation) must be there if it is to ever take place at all. And I would add this here, Krishnan: My experience is that one must become DEAD SERIOUS for a time if he is to ever come to experience genuine laughter of the heart and the heights of joy or sheer bliss, if you will. So often we use laughter to hide or cover a deep inner emptyness, guilt feelings, resentments, and misery. Which only the journey into Truth can ever truly fill and set aright.

Dear Bob. I agree on the need for seriousness in this regard.Human condition is as you very wellpointed out, is often, "escapism" taking many routes.Leaving aside all this, I wonder, how our hero of the original topic is going to deal with demcratic problems cropping up in the vulcanoe -bursting forth politically in the theocratic STATE OF IRAN today? I mean Prseident OBAMA, what now?

Dear Krishnan,

We can only be serious about and focus solely on our own mutation or transformation. And by doing so finding our direction in life which is aligned with the evolutionary process and thereby aims at the future of man. Towards saving a small portion of the fast-sinking ship, if you will. And by doing so finally bringing light into our dark world, along with real joy and sense of purpose into our own lives and hearts.

I've said here before that NO MAN or MEN are capable of solving the world's problems, and K said the very same thing himself, as I too showed you previously. We're heading towards Armageddon. And perfectly on schedule, I would add.

And here's some other similar views of K's on this grave matter, along with the one I posted previously:

"If man doesn't radically change, fundamentally bringing about a mutation IN HIMSELF, we will destroy ourselves. A psychologcal evolution is possible now, not a thousand years later. We've already had thousands of years and we're still barbarians. So if we don't change now we'll still be barbarians tomorrow or a thousand tomorrows." (J. Krishnamurti)

"The head of any society, church, or religious group who has power over other people is an evil person, because he is controlling, shaping, guiding others without knowing where he himself is going. This is true not only of the big organizations, but of the little societies all over the world." (J. Krishnamurti)

"The politicians are not going to eradicate all this misery and ugliness in the world, any more than the religions and the reformers will, because they are only concerned with a little patchwork here and there; but if there were Love, then all these things would disappear tomorrow." (J. Krishnamurti)

My view however, and again, is that the mass of humanity will and really must destroy itself. Since only a very few people are capable of radical change. And we, you and I, can only try to form a body of people who will become the light and go on to carry a small portion of the species forward after the soon-coming nuclear holocaust takes place. At least this is my goal, my sense of right action or direction. With or without you Krishnan.

You're welcome, Krishnan. I've never read the book though I think a friend in Australia is sending me a copy. There's some other fine articles by the late Mr. Long here online. Below is another one I especially like.

http://www.barrylong.org/statements/manschallen...

And let me add this: it's my hunch that there are leaders of other countries and a some others, who are in a different limelight, so to speak, who see the big picture far more clearly and rightly than those in the U. S do. Here, from the bottom to the top, we see everything through the prism of greed, power, prestige, and overall long, hard, and thereby deeply conditioned SELF-CENTEREDNESS. So long, hard, and deep it is that there's gross neurological damage in its inhabitants whereby very, very few people can sense their falseness or dehumanization, let alone ever rise above it. And as a result 'our chickens are soon coming home to roost', as Mr. Obama's ex-minister too rightly foresees. The Great American Dream (or party) is soon coming to an end. Which is just as well, since there's very, very little life, love, joy, or true human goodness and decency in it anywhere anymore. Just folly and madness. The cancer of greed, sloth, deceit, and consumerism will soon do us in.

"Every man has inside his body sufficient energy to take him through to the realisation of truth or God - God realisation, as it?s called." (Barry Long)

Barry Long, deeply insightful as he was, was wrong in his above assessment of things. As were so many other awakened, enlightened, or spiritual men. Every man may have sufficient energy to realize Truth or God, but without him having a finely-formed and sensitive neurological construct he's doomed to live out but a life of quiet desperation. Hence the Truth of the matter is far more aligned with the old adage, "many are called, but FEW are chosen." That is chosen to be able to genuinely and fully WALK in the light of Truth.

Krishnamurti early on seemed to hold the same view as Christ. Though he backed away from it as time went on.

"Only a few soar into the skies. They are the only creative and happy people. The rest (the many?) spoil and destroy each other on this lovely earth, by hurt and likewise gossip." (J. Krishnamurti)

"A mind that is crooked cannot understand the Truth." (J. Krishnamurti)

Who is Sane and Who is Insane?

"The Sadness Of Life was Everywhere, and in the blue sky, high in the
air, were the heavy-winged vultures, circling without moving their
wings, circling by the hour, waiting and watching. What is sanity and
insanity? Who is sane and who is insane? Are the politicians sane?
The priests, are they insane? Those who are committed to ideologies,
are they sane? We are controlled, shaped, pushed around by them, and
are we sane? What is sanity? To be whole, nonfragmented in action, in
life, in every kind of relationship, that is the very essence of
sanity. Sanity means to be whole, healthy and holy. To be insane,
neurotic, psychotic, unbalanced, schizophrenic, whatever name you
might give to it, is to be fragmented, broken up in action and in the
movement of relationship, which is existence. To breed antagonism and
division, which is the trade of the politicians who represent you, is
to cultivate and sustain insanity, whether they are dictators or
those in power in the name of peace or some form of ideology. And the
priest: look at the world of the priesthood. He stands between you
and what he and you consider truth, savior, God, heaven, hell. He is
the interpreter, the representative; he holds the keys to heaven; he
has conditioned man through belief, dogma, and ritual; he is the real
propagandist. He has conditioned you because you want comfort,
security, and you dread tomorrow. The artists, the intellectuals, the
scientists, admired and flattered so much-are they sane? Or do they
live in two different worlds-the world of ideas and imagination with
its compulsive expression, wholly separate from their daily life of
sorrow and pleasure? The world about you is fragmented and so are you
and its expression is conflict, confusion, and misery; you are the
world and the world is you. Sanity is to live a life of action
without conflict. Action and ideas are contradictory. Seeing is the
doing and not ideation first and action according to the conclusion.
This breeds conflict. The analyzer himself is the analyzed. When the
analyzer separates himself as something different from the analyzed,
he begets conflict, and conflict is the area of the unbalanced. The
observer is the the observed and therein lies sanity, the whole, and
with the holy is love." (J. Krishnamurti - 'Total Freedom')

President OBAMA is sane in engaging the Russians in dialogue and trying to reverse old American &Russian attiudes to each other. Atiiudes, ideas, though they are abstract,
bring havoc in the lives of millions of people in different nations. This psychological warfare is the concern of many minds including President OBAMAS.That is good beginning.

Hi Krishnan,

You still don't seem to see the big picture here, as have Krishnamurti and myself. And my feeling is that fear and false hopes are preventing this.

Let me run this following line of K's, of which I'm in total agreement with, by you again:

"The politicians ARE NOT going to eradicate all this misery and ugliness in the world, any more than the religions and the reformers will, because they are only concerned with a little patchwork here and there; but if there were LOVE, then all these things would disappear tomorrow." (J. K. - 'Think On These Things')

Although Love, in all it's glory, will not really come to be either until after the pending nuclear holocaust takes place. Then, and only then, will sanity, understanding, and Love be restored and come to prevail here on earth universally.

Meanwhile, take care and do your very best to live fully in the solution, Krishnan.

"In all the world there are only two kinds of people - those who know, and those who do not know; and this knowledge is the thing which matters. What religion a man holds, to what race he belongs - these things are not important; the really important thing is this knowledge - the knowledge of God's plan for men. For God has a plan, and that plan is evolution. When once a man has seen that and really knows it, he cannot help working for it and making himself one with it, because it is so glorious, so beautiful. So, because he knows, he is on God's side, standing for good and resisting evil, WORKING FOR EVOLUTION AND NOT FOR SELFISHNESS." (J. Krishnamurti)

Bob M.
