What if there never was a person named, "Jesus"?

Ok, if Caesar heard about a guy who could walk on water and raise people from the dead, he would've sent his soldiers to capture him and bring him to Rome and use him as a secret weapon. The last thing he would do is condemn him to death, he'd be too valuable.

I propose that there never was a person named Jesus (Or any of the other spiritual wonderkinds either) who posessed "God powers" and could perform supernatural tricks. First of all there's no tangible proof that any of them ever existed. Second, they're all in human form, how convenient for us humans! Of the thousands and thousands of species on the planet, the "enlightened" ones took the form of the species with the biggest imagination and ego.

The second paragraph of your post falls into the 'who gives a shit?' category and the first paragraph is demonstrative of the fact that you know nothing about the culture of the Romans at the time when Jesus was supposed to have lived.

It's easy enough to set you straight, but it's better that you do your own homework.

What's the point here Mr/Mrs/Ms. Rope? If as your last sentence indicates the character of Jesus was/is..fictional what is the point..of your post? Not to be rude or anything ..but.. this forum is about the teaching of Krishnamurti..a very real person who did exist!:)

More and more biblical scholars are agreeing with the above statement. No where in any document of the era in either Rome, Middle East, Greece or Egypt is there a mention of any one named Jesus who was a prophet or messiah. No where in the many and frequent census that the Roman's were obsessed with taking is there a mention of a person named Jesus the son of Joseph and Mary living in Nazareth or any place else in that area.

Every single part of the Jesus myth is borrowed from some other religion or mythology. Much of the Jesus myth is based on the myth of Hercules. Jesus is a complete fabrication that came about decades, if not centuries, after the supposed life of Jesus.

But Hope Ropa you were mistaken if you thought you could float a new idea on here without first clearing it with Dean Smith. He was, of course, the foul-mouth "expert on everything" who first commented on your post. The second one to comment was Rick who is the perennial follower and cheerleader on this forum.

You've brought up an interesting and pertinent point relative to K. Because many would like to do with K what they have done with Jesus and others. With K they have an actual person which may make their job easier. People need to follow someone or something, like Rick for example, so that they feel fulfilled and so they don't have to think for themselves.

Are you insinuating that a movie would prove that Jesus actually lived? Not that he didn't, mind you. The 'Jesus never existed' theory has been around for donkeys ages. Those that consider it a new idea, are out of touch and seriously stupid.

Ever the braying ass aren't you Dean? And by the way, anyone who thinks there was a Jesus probably still believes in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. So you're still caught up in the Jesus myth and you're calling others stupid?

This is how unstable David/Jack is. All that Rick did was point out that he'd "never seen Dean threaten anyone on the forum". That's it.

There is no need to know to what you are referring in order to ask an overall question about friendship.

Friendship is not rooted in fascism surely? :)

Nope, that's not what I am referring to at all. Dean if you knew twice as much as you actually know you'd still be an idiot. Now I'd really like to continue playing with you kiddies but time draws short and I just gotta prepare for this upcoming vacation.

Pat,

You're wasting your time. The guy is mentally ill and logic and common sense are strangers to him. All the time he spent with Krishnamurti didn't help his psychosis and nothing we say will, either.

Pat, please don't use words that Rick is going to have to look up in the dictionary. And where did the fascist comment come from? Fascism? Are you a drinker? It's morning there right?

No Jack - don't try that one on me - I don't drink alcohol or take drugs. Or eat animal flesh.

The fascist comment is related to seeking to censor what someone else says/believes/feels. At a small level, withdrawing friendship upon disagreement - at a larger level, destroying the person disagreed with. Where is the line?

It wasn't ever friendship, Pat. It was the immaturity of "I love you, if you love me".

God only knows what fantasies he had about Krishnamurti.
He was told that an invitation by friends for a trip to visit Krishnamurti, was declined. The point of not going was illustrated, but he can't see beyond his own adoration of Krishnamurti.
